Today, mother’s day is celebrated in the UAE and probably in the rest of the Arab world. A day that is dedicated to honor the greatest person in our lives. A day that is dedicated to remind us all of the pains that mom used to go through and probably still going through as we speak. Even when we grow and turn into adults, in her eyes, we are still children, her children. She will still worry about you, ask about you even if you don’t ask; check on you even when you don’t check on her; and she will always protect you. While we take this day as an opportunity to honor mom, buy her a gift, or say some nice words, it is something that we should do everyday. It is not difficult to say a few nice words everyday. Everything that she is looking for is our happiness, and she is not expecting anything back. We may spend a lot of time with our friends, or at work, or wherever, but we always know that part of her is always with us. She knows when we are happy and she knows when we are sad. As they say, A mother’s heart always knows.
