Probably the least visited places but one that we will visit one day and become residents of “one day”, the grave yard. Visiting the graveyard recently has been an eye opener for me. The image is just ironic. We chase the towers that are at the back but we know we will eventually end up under the sand no matter how far and hard we try. Our egos are higher than those towers but our bodies will be buried below them and one day towers will be built on them.
In this life, we are chasing our egos and loosing everything else. Families are breaking apart, friends are loosing one another, war breaks, and civilizations are destroyed. Our egos are sometimes bigger than the biggest tower in the world that we do not mind destroying everything beautiful we have and everything beautiful around us for the simple reason that our opinion or our way must be satisfied. We can be the reasons or the victims of all. But in all cases when we are buried down the earth, nothing will stay, and we will not take anything with us. We will not take, our ego, our envy, our hate, nor we will bring back what we have destroyed.
Visiting the graveyard as much as it could be depressing it is an enlightening experience. One that has helped me think of life or at least what is left of it. What to appreciate and what to avoid. What to cherish and what to keep. How to continue living and how to live every day. How to appreciate every day and everyone. How to look at good and bad. How to look at what is close and what is far. How to love more and hate less. How to live more, laugh more, and appreciate more. How to appreciate our differences and how to tolerate them.
